2024 Volvo XC90 T8 Recharge
Volvo has a good formula that seems to be working for them; produce the same vehicle for as long as possible without any major changes, and print money because of it. This second-generation Volvo XC90 launched in 2015 as a 2016 model year and has seen a few minor facelifts since it was first introduced, but nothing significant to change up what seems to be working for them. We've driven several versions of the XC90 to date, including the T8 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. This 2024 Volvo XC90 T8 Recharge shares the same designation with Volvo's fully-electric vehicles, which adds a layer of confusion for the average buyer when shopping for a luxury vehicle.
As the old saying goes: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Volvo seems to take this to heart, and it works for them. The styling is still as tasteful as it has been, with body-coloured exterior trim to help distinguish this luxury SUV as a pavement queen more than an off-roader. The interior is a familiar sentiment, with the Google Built-In infotainment system taking centre stage amongst the leather and wood trim. Our test model came very well equipped with the exceptional Bowers & Wilkins audio system.
