2024 Volvo C40 Recharge

Volvo's aggressive push towards electrification has brought us several new vehicles in the past few years. We last drove their fully-electric Volvo XC40 in 2022 before moving to Ontario, in fact we had a couple of them within a short span of each other as software improvements brought more features to the vehicle during that time. Fast-forward to our 2024 Volvo C40, based on the same platform with a raked back-end, the C40 is a coupé-style SUV with similar features to it's sister XC40. We spent a week with this Ultimate at the start of the year to see if it might be a suitable electric vehicle for modern buyers.

We also got lucky during our week with the Volvo C40 in the fact that it snowed for once in Southwestern Ontario, allowing us to test the winter capabilities of this vehicle with snow tires. The C40 doesn't offer any specific drive modes outside of the normal drive function, but even in rough weather the vehicle performed well enough to get us through the thick of it.
