2020 Lincoln Corsair Reserve AWD Full Tour & Review

Back to back with the new-for-2020 Lincoln models, we're looking at the latest compact crossover luxury vehicle from the American brand: the 2020 Lincoln Corsair Reserve AWD.

This episode of TestDrive Spotlight is a full tour and review of the new 2020 Lincoln Corsair Reserve AWD. With two trims currently available in the Canadian market, this Reserve AWD starts at $50,500.00 CAD and is positioned as an entry-level Lincoln in the brand's portfolio. The Corsair is based on the new Ford Escape platform, but inside and out its a completely different vehicle. Following Lincoln's current design language, the Corsair comes with adaptive LED headlights with a familiar front end from the 2019 MKC, with an updated LED rear end that isn't the same as the Aviator we saw last week.

The inside is completely re-designed featuring a suite of optional extras even on our Reserve trim, such as the 14 speaker Revel audio system, 24-way Perfect Position front seats with heat, ventilation, and massage, along with the Beyond Blue Bridge of Weir Deepsoft leather available as a package to this Corsair. Most of the safety and luxury features we found on the 2020 Lincoln Aviator are present here, though the front Lincoln Star emblem doesn't light up, nor are the door equipped with Lincoln's Light Touch handles.

The adaptive suspension on this corsair doesn't use the camera-based road preview system found on the Aviator, but includes a integral bush rear suspension for quieter driving. NHV has also been improved on this vehicle with an air pocket between the firewall and passenger cabin. Our 2020 Lincoln Corsair also comes with Ford's 2.3L EcoBoost inline 4 engine with a power boost over the outgoing MKC, producing 295 horsepower, 310 lb-ft of torque.

The Corsair also comes with an 8 speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive with a front wheel bias. We go over the rear seat legroom and space, as this vehicle boasts improved rear seat passenger comfort over the competition as well as vehicles in larger segments. We then take the 2020 Lincoln Corsair Reserve AWD on a road test to talk about how the vehicle performs, handles, and drives, and everything else you need to know if you're in the market for a $66,000 compact luxury crossover.
