Road-Trip with the 2020 BMW X3 M Competition
A year after it was announced, we're behind the wheel of the first ever 2020 BMW X3 M Competition, a compact luxury SUV with a lot of grunt.
Our full tour and review on the 2020 BMW X3M Competition goes over everything potential buyers and enthusiasts want to know about this compact luxury performance SUV. BMW's G01 X3 launched for the 2018 model year, the brand announced the year after the first ever M Car variants would hit dealerships for the 2020 model year.
Our test vehicle is well equipped at $99,650.00 CAD and comes in Donington Grey metallic paint. Our episode starts with a short clip of the X3 M Competition's M Exhaust doing a launch on snow followed by some snow donuts. We then go into our full review of this vehicle by going over some of the performance information, how this vehicle compares on paper to the 2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio we featured, and why someone might consider this vehicle over the competition.
We discuss the different packages BMW offers for the X3 M and which ones are selected on our test vehicle. We had the chance to drive this 2020 BMW X3 M Competition to Toronto, Ontario for the Canadian International Auto Show, and had the chance to experience how this vehicle performs and handles on a daily basis.
We continue our driving test back in Québec as we discuss the winter and snow capabilities of the X3 M, as well as how fast it will do 0-100kph (0-60mph) in Sport Plus mode. We discuss the ride, suspension, and seating feel both from an M Car perspective and how it differs from the X4 M40i we featured last year.
We then have a little fun in the snow with the X3 M Competition by doing some winter donuts and drifting to show how the M xDrive system works on this compact luxury SUV.
TestDrive wraps up with the real-world fuel economy testing we conducted along with what we liked and disliked about this vehicle, and what buyers should consider if they're in the market to purchase an X3 like this.
