2019 Mazda CX-5 Signature

Mazda continues to improve their vehicles, and the 2019 CX-5 Signature is no exception. We show you what's new for 2019 and everything that comes with their new premium-oriented Signature trim.

Special thanks to Mazda du Boulevard in Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec for allowing us to film their 2019 Mazda CX-5 Signature: https://www.mazdasthyacinthe.com/

This is the vehicle we've been waiting for since early 2018. We started to talk about Mazda's direction with their Signature line of vehicles when the Mazda6 was announced, and we speculated heavily that a CX-5 Signature would be coming in the next couple years with the same premium treatments found on their other vehicles. To our great delight the new 2019 models have brought a lot of the features we expected, along with a few extras.

Changes for the 2019 Mazda CX-5 include LED license plate lights, improved steering, ride handling, and vibration reduction. Mazda's enhanced G-Vectoring Control Plus brings added ride control to this compact crossover SUV. Interior updates include ventilated front seats for the GT trim, illuminated glove box, LED interior lighting, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM Travel Link & Traffic, and changes to Mazda's HMI Commander interface for Mazda Connect.

The Signature trim adds new 19" gun metal alloy rims, a new 7" colour multi information display, black headliner, cocoa nappa leather seating, bezel-less HomeLink mirror, Abachi wood trim, and other premium enhancements over the GT trim. Our episode of TestDrive Snapshot goes over all the changes for 2019 including the new Signature features.

We also take the new 2.5L turbocharged SkyActiv-G engine on a road test to talk about the 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque experience in Mazda's compact crossover. Our road test talks about our driving experience, how the vehicle performs on public roads, and our thoughts on the changes made to the mechanical aspects of this vehicle.
