Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Tablet Preview
We wind up with another 'vintage' Lenovo ThinkPad, but this time it's from this decade!
Our X60 Tablet we featured earlier this season ended up going back to the shop for a dead battery. One day it just wouldn't charge anymore and despite having 72% charge, it wouldn't power the ThinkPad. After a couple months of waiting we finally received our replacement, a Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Tablet. Powered by an Intel Core i7 L620 2.0Ghz Dual Core CPU, 4GB of RAM, a 240GB OCZ Vertex3 SSD, and a 12.1" touch display, this portable has a lot going for it.
Our episode of PRN_tech goes over some of the unique features of the X201T including the X200 Series UltraBase which comes with it. Some of the unique features of this X201T is the 3G mobile broadband chip, a high nit touch screen display, extra long battery life for an 8 year old PC, and the ability to run the latest OS, in our case Windows 10 Professional with the April Creator's Update.
The X200 UltraBase also packs a few unique features we weren't expecting, such as a DisplayPort output, along with a charging port for a spare battery.
This is a quick 'unboxing' of this ThinkPad, so we don't go to much into a review as much as we're just showing the features and capabilities of a new to us machine. We plan on using this X201 Tablet heavily over the next month in order to produce a more in-depth review based on using a 2010 machine in 2018.
