2018 Buick Regal GS

Buick's Regal nameplate has a lot of heritage here in North America, and thankfully GM isn't trying to revive one infamous trim name to try and boost sales. Our Spotlight is on the sport-oriented 2018 Buick Regal GS.

Much like the 2018 Kia Stinger GT Limited we featured earlier in the season, this 2018 Buick Regal GS is a fastback four door family sedan with a large lift-back trunk, a focus on performance, and a lot of similar features between the two of them. Our Spotlight is an in-depth full tour and review of this vehicle sold as an Opel Insignia and Vauxhall Commodore outside of North America.

This fully loaded Buick Regal GS comes with the Experience Buick Package and Driver Confidence #2 Package which adds extra features on top of this trim level. Features include fixed LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors, front Brembo® brakes, keyless entry for all 4 doors, and a backup camera. Inside we find AGR sport seats for the front with heat, ventilation, and massage. Heated steering wheel, dual zone automatic climate control, navigation with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Bose audio system, a colour HUD, and Qi wireless phone charging.

We take this 310 horsepower naturally aspirated V6 engine out on the road to see how it feels on the road, and on the drag strip. We also talk briefly about the similarities between this and the 2018 Kia Stinger GT Limited, but will have further coverage on TestDrive Showdown between these two vehicles.
